St. Patrick's Day is drawing nearer, and no Irish holiday is complete without a little green cocktail! Wine expert Eric Leue shares his top three favorite drinks for the occasion.

Grasshopper
A green bar classic for St. Patrick's Day would be the so called "Grasshopper." It is simply made using only three things, making it a simple and fun choice to serve at parties.

Ingredients:
1 1/2 oz Cream
1/2 oz Crème de Cacao (clear/white)
1/3 oz Crème de Menthe Verte (green)

Directions:
Shake it on ice and serve it in a frozen Sour or Martini Glass garnished with a chip of chocolate and some fresh peppermint.


Applejack Highball
If you are rather looking for something less green and bubbly, try this one.

Ingredients:
1/2 oz fresh Orange Juice
1 1/2 oz Calvados
Dash of Grenadine
Ginger Ale (try to use Fever Tree Ginger Ale - it's the best, but hard to find...)

Directions:
Stir the first three ingredients on ice in a fancy Longdrink glass and fill it with Ginger Ale.


Whiskey Sour
This recipe will give you a Whiskey Sour with a distinct Vanilla/Peat flavor, balanced by the acidity and fruity aromas of lemon juice and orange.

Ingredients:
1 1/2 oz of Laphroaig Quarter Cask
1/2 oz Lemon Juice
Dash of clear Cane Sugar Syrup
Dash of fresh sweet Orange Juice
Cocktail cherry with a bit of Bourbon Vanilla

Directions:
Shake on ice and pour into a sour glass or tumbler - delicious. This recipe will give you a Whiskey Sour with a distinct Vanilla/Peat flavor, balanced by the acidity and fruity aromas of lemon juice and orange
