Zombie Makeup

Makeup Artist Linda Hay shows us how to create a zombie look for Halloween with a few makeup tricks.

Start by whiting out the face. It doesn't have to be neat! After all, zombies are messy.

Using theatrical makeup and a wet sponge, make yourself look as dead as possible by getting rid of all the color on your face.

Next, Linda uses bran flakes (yes, actual breakfast cereal!) and eyelash glue to make gruesome-looking scabs.

After waiting for the glue to dry on the scabs, the next step is to begin contouring the face by hollowing it out with brown, black and grey face paint.

Then, add black pencil to the inside of the eyes and all the way around. Smudge that with a darker color.

Create more dimension with black face paint, and afterwards smudge purple around the scabs to create a bruising effect.

It's not finished until you add on the blood!

Finally, throw on a scary wig from any Halloween store and you've got your very own zombie face! Learn how to make the rest of the costume here. It's easy!
