Beauty in the Fridge

I don't have the room to put my oodles of colognes in the fridge or lotions nor do I want to risk any of those things smelling weird from food, but if I had a big enough bedroom or bathroom maybe I would keep a little fridge strictly for cosmetics! However, I do keep some kohl eyeliners in the fridge in a zip lock baggy, it helps them keep from breaking off due to how soft they are, and it feels nice to line my eyes with a cool tip. I also have put some eyeliners in the fridge overnight to make them easier to sharpen.

I keep all my expensive beauty products & perfumes in their original boxes and in a dark drawer. It really does stop the goods from evaporating, or in the case of creams, going runny and unpleasant to use.The thing I find the fridge is most useful for is storing elastic bands.
Sunlight is the real enemy of fragrances and can 'turn' the most delicious scent into something quite nasty.

Well, it's not completely true that you don't want your makeup to smell like food. Some companies deliberately make personal body products to smell like food. Chocolate Axe for men, for example....that turns men into chocolate and then causes women to eat them (I SAW the commercial) :-D

Lip balms that smell like cherry, or apple or bubblegum....among other things....

Mouse, is that your name because you live in a hole? If you keep it in a zip lock bag and as you say you receive may gifts of expensive perfume try the frig it works, If you want to keep it next to your bacon then I guess your bacon is cooked.

Just try to make me put cold face cream on my face in winter when it is 32 degrees outside. Perfume? If you buy cheap stuff I guess it wouldn't make a difference but I get expensive ones as gifts and I use them while I am dressing. I'd really rather not dress in my kitchen and I don't think bacon grease does much for improving the scent.

My mother was a nurse (she has since passed away). To make a point, she took samples of my makeup and, under a microscope, showed me the multitudes of bacteria lurking in each one.

If you knew this, you would either purchase one-application only products, or eschew the wearing of makeup altogether. My choice was to give up makeup. My skin is clearer and I've learned that there is a beauty that comes from within, not painted on.

DO YOU EVER FIND PERFUME YOU BUY IN A FRIDGE? NO NO NO --- IT IS ALL ON DISPLAY ALL OVER THE WORLD ON SHELVES------ NEVER EVER PUT IT IN THE FRIDGE.. IT HAS TO REMAIN AT ROOM TEMP.. BY ALL MEANS CLOSE THE TOPS SECURELY---- IN THE FRIDGE THE CHEMICAL MAKE UP WILL BE OFF BALANCED AND CHANGE THE SMELL. COLD CREAMS OK -- PERFUMES NEVER!!!!!!!

The author forgot to state that highly fragrant items in the refrigerator will transfer that aroma to food but was more concerned that the food would taint the perfume.

Great advice for women/men who really care about their makeup! Makeup artists especially!
