Just before the holidays, we learned that a bold and daring color known as Tangerine Tango would be the 'it' color of 2012, according to the Pantone Color Institute, who forecasts the color trends every year. And now that Fall 2012 Fashion Week is officially underway, we can't help but notice that the institute was spot on with its color forecasting.

The bold, sexy hue has been seen all over runway shows, starting off with BCBG and continuing in shows including Nanette Lapore and Elie Tahari, so it looks like the trend is here to stay for the whole year.

"Sophisticated but at the same time dramatic and seductive, Tangerine Tango is an orange with a lot of depth to it," said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute, in a press release. "Reminiscent of the radiant shadings of a sunset, Tangerine Tango marries the vivaciousness and adrenaline rush of red with the friendliness and warmth of yellow, to form a high-visibility, magnetic hue that emanates heat and energy."

And the bonus with this hot hue is that you can wear it now by picking up a few pieces that will transition right into your fall wardrobe. Shop the trend here, we picked a few of our favorites. And check out the slideshow below of all the orange taking over the runway at New York Fashion Week.
