Coast-to-Coast Fashion: West

Stylist Petra Flannery is showing us three looks that are inspired by the Western region of the United States. These looks are inspired by cities including Boulder, Colorado, Santa Monica, California, and Santa Fe, New Mexico.

In Boulder, warmth is a top priority, so it's nice to use breathable fabrics like a cotton turtleneck so you can go from the slopes to the fireside, says Petra. A printed pant is key for adding a little life to the outfit.

Then, Petra is showing us a look from Santa Monica. It's California cool, says Petra-a look that can take you from the beach to brunch featuring a crochet skirt, a few layering tanks and a denim jacket. In the desert, its key to bring a light jacket as a layering piece to keep warm when the weather cools down.

In Santa Fe, there's a strong art culture and a Navajo, tribal influence, says Petra. Because of the abundance of turquoise in the region, Petra mixed the color into the look, incorporating the bright hue into everything from the jewelry to a shirt. An ankle boot is a great piece for pairing with a skinny jean, and just like in many other regions, Petra recommends layering breathable pieces for keeping warm from day to night.

These three looks will have you prepared to go west!
