Coast to Coast Style: Southeast

Style expert Petra Flannery is sharing three looks inspired by the Southeast region of the United States--Raleigh, Atlanta and Miami.

First, Petra chooses a basic orange dress and adds a little something extra by incorporating jewelry with gold accents, which are a great compliment to a bright outfit because the neutral tone of the metal is not too overwhelming. To finish off the look, she adds a pair of white pumps for a little pop! It's a look that is sexy, chic and perfect for a fun city like Miami.

Next, Petra creates a look inspired by Raleigh. Even though the military jacket is more of a masculine style, she makes it feminine by pairing it with a cotton lace skirt and adding trendy booties. Then, she makes the look unique by adding jewels, like the brooches in the clip above, to the jacket. Extra touches like these are an easy thing to do that can make a big difference in your outfit--just go to any ribbon store and buy a brooch, then add it onto a pocket or lapel.

Finally, Petra chooses a look inspired by Atlanta. She begins by incorporating a boyfriend-style blazer with skinny pants and heels--a boyfriend blazer is a great closet staple because it's loose fitting and can easily be taken from day to night. She also sticks to light colors for this look--pastels mix easily together and are a fun alternative to neutrals. Soft pinks, peaches and blues mixed together are very sweet but still sassy, says Petra.

With these three looks, now you are fashionably prepared to head down south!
